Letter from the Artistic Director

Dear Friend of the Rep,

After nearly thirty years of treading the boards for the Rep-from principal roles to chorus-I am honored to now be "cast" in the greatest role of my theatrical career, Artistic Director of The Toledo Repertoire Theatre.

As such, it is my goal to assist our cast, our crew and our many wonderful and talented volunteers in creating for our audiences the finest theater experiences available on the Toledo stage. This task is made infinitely more easy by the incredible contributions made by our small-but-mighty staff-including Business Manager Kathy McGovern, Technical Director J. Judson Lohman, Rep Ed Director Eileen Eddy, Costume Coordinator James Norman and Volunteer Coordinator Susan McCann, as well as a dedicated Board of Trustees-led with great enthusiasm by President Amy Spaulding-Heuring...and, of course, the support of our generous sponsors!

Artistic talent abounds at The Rep, as our onstage and behind-the-scenes crew continue to shine, my own focus as Artistic Director is two-fold:

First, to promote this venerable organization's incredible community impact and exciting upcoming season, while achieving a sense of continuity for our talent, our audience, our sponsors and our partner-arts organizations. Second, to expand the Rep's artistic influence in Northwest Ohio through collaboration, education and community outreach.

And this new season sets the stage for The Rep's continued achievements. Mark your calendars now, because you won't want to miss:

I can't think of a more appropriate production to kick-off a season filled with good humor, vivacious antics and a host of beloved classics than the lovingly irreverent send-up of musical theater, Forbidden Broadway, directed by Debra Ross Calabrese. Opening night is Friday, September 13th. Reserve your seats now, because with a show like this we anticipate another sell-out...

On that note: It's not too late to purchase your Season Subscription, if you haven't already done so. There is no more immediate way to demonstrate your support of The Rep-and guarantee yourself a stake in the best theater Toledo has to offer!

Toledo has a "Rep"-in our 81st season and growing stronger. So now, the "cast" is set, the players wait in the wings, and we are ready for you-our audience...

See you at the theater!

Artistic Director

Classes Starting Soon

We still have room for students. Our theme this session is "Reelin' and Rockin'". The classes are fun filled, yet educational.

The children learn about theatre, they are instructed in singing, acting and dance.  The classes are for children 7 to 16, those with stage experience and those who have never set foot on a stage as well.

At the end of the session the children perform in a showcase, so that family and friends get a chance to witness what they have accomplished.  Rep Ed builds confidence, improves communications skills, gives children a chance to perform, make friends and just have fun.

Classes are held on Saturday

mornings from 9am to 12pm. Starting  Sept. 14th and run through Nov. 2. The classes are at the 10th Street Theatre. Call Kathy at (419) 243-9277 ext. 4  to register.  Registrations are also taken on the day of classes (room permitting).
