The Normal Heart
by Larry Kramer
Kramer's explosive autobiographical play chronicles the rise of the HIV/AIDS crisis in New York City between 1981 and 1984 as seen through the eyes of writer/activist Ned Weeks, the founder of a prominent HIV advocacy group, Gay Men's Health Crisis. Winner of three Tony Awards in 2011 and the basis of an Emmy Award-winning HBO film adaptation in 2014.
Sponsoring our Rainbow Series is Equitas Health. Established in 1984, Equitas Health (formerly AIDS Resource Center Ohio), is a regional not-for-profit community-based healthcare system and federally qualified community health center look-alike. Its expanded mission has made it one of the nationís largest HIV/AIDS, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) healthcare organizations.
