Is winning everything? Can we justify cheating when the odds are stacked against us?
Ray has swum his way to the eve of the Olympic trials. If he makes the team, he’ll get a deal with Speedo. If he gets a deal with Speedo, he’ll never need a real job. When someone’s stash of performance-enhancing drugs is found in the locker room fridge, threatening the entire team’s Olympic fate, Ray has to crush the rumors or risk losing everything. Red Speedo is a sharp and stylish play about swimming, survival of the fittest, and the American dream of a level playing field – or of leveling the field yourself.
Red Speedo is a partnership production between the Toledo Rep and Actors Collaborative Toledo. ACT is a group of local theatre artists dedicated to bringing contemporary theatre to Toledo, with a focus on the importance of supporting, educating, and empowering local talent. Through collaborations and fundraising efforts with other non-profits around town, ACT is bringing awareness to important social issues through live theatre.

When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. In order for Dorothy to get home, the wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West to earn his help.
